The Brodhead School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex (including sexual orientation or gender identity), in its education programs or activities, and is required by Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, and its implementing regulations, not to discriminate in such a manner. The District’s Title IX Coordinator, DeAnne Larson, Director of Special Education and Pupil Services, along with any investigator(s), decision-maker(s), or person(s) designated to facilitate an informal resolution process, must receive training on:
- the definition of sexual harassment (as that term is used in this policy);
- the scope of the District’s education program or activity;
- how to conduct an investigation and implement the grievance process, appeals, and informal resolution processes, as applicable; and
- how to serve impartially, including by avoiding prejudgment of the facts at issue, conflicts of interests, and bias.
All school personnel are required to participate in Title IX Training. The Title IX training modules were developed by the law firm of Renning, Lewis, and Lacy and fulfill Title IX training requirements.
District Administrators were also trained using Title IX training modules provided by the law firm of Renning, Lewis, and Lacy. Modules provided fulfill Title IX training requirements.
